Liberty Ascent
Liberty Ascent
To provide children and adults with special needs a welcoming environment to grow in their faith.
Liberty Ascent works to provide a fun, safe, and welcoming experience for children and adults with disabilities to learn and grow as disciples of Jesus Christ. If applicable, our leaders will help students engage with their peers in their age-appropriate areas of ministry.
Our sidekick ministry strives provide available accommodations for one hour during the Sunday service. Families can apply to request a buddy sidekick on their child’s individual needs. A sidekick can be made available after ministry leader interview and approval & if we can safely & appropriately meet your student’s needs.
Roles
- Sidekick: Sidekicks exist to help students with varying levels of need participate in programming for their age group. Sidekicks are matched to students based on their individual needs. Sidekicks need to be able to confidently keep up with students and help them engage with their peers. This role requires an interview with ministry leader, Ministry Safe certification as well as a background check. Someone considering this area of service needs to be able to physically assist students. Highschool students can serve once a month if the student is not a peer.
our child's application for a sidekick is a two step process - Your student’s application will be reviewed based on their needs and our capabilities as a ministry and a follow up interview with a ministry leader and Ascent leader will be conducted to see how if and how we are able to best serve. If applicable, We are currently able to provide Sidekicks for one hour on Sunday. If your child is school aged, please describe your child's classroom setting.
If you are interested in your child's participation, please fill out the application below.
