NEW BOOKS

Lives Given, Not Taken: 21st Century Southern Baptist Martyrs by Erich Bridges. Do you remember reading in The Alabama Baptist about Martha Myers, a medical missionary from Alabama, who was murdered while serving in Yemen in 2002? The interesting story of her life is included in this book, along with the stories of six other missionaries.

The Five Languages of Apology
by Gary Chapman, the author also of The Five Love Languages. He says, “The key to good relationships is learning the apology language of the other person and being willing to speak it….When you fail to speak their language, it makes forgiveness more difficult because they are not sure if you are genuinely apologizing.”

B4UD8: 7 Things You Need to Know before Your Next Date
by Hayley & Michael DiMarco. This book was written for teens or older young people who are currently dating or who will begin dating soon. Parents, encourage your teenagers to read this very helpful book.

LT & Me: What Raising a Champion Taught Me about Life, Faith, and Listening to Your Dreams. This book was written by Loreane Tomlinson, who is the mother of LaDainian Tomlinson, the 2006 NFL Most Valuable Player. This memoir should be of interest to men or women – whether you love football or not!

Nelson’s New Illustrated Bible Manners and Customs: How the People of the Bible Really Lived – an interesting look at the everyday lives of people in Biblical times.

Apples & Chalkdust – 180 inspirational stories and encouragement for teachers by Vicki Caruana (a teacher).

LifeWay Legacy: a Personal History of LifeWay Christian Resources and the Sunday School Board of the Southern Baptist Convention

Same Kind of Different as Me by Ron Hall and Denver Moore (one of the most amazing stories I have ever read!)
