Liberty Kids Bible Study (Grades K – 5) 9:15am
The Gospel Project for Kids is a Christ-centered Bible study resource that looks at the big picture of God's story—the story of redemption through Jesus Christ. Each week, kids will follow a chronological timeline of Bible events, all the while learning how each story points to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
BIBLE MEMORY PROGRAM
Children journey through a five-year program as they “hide God’s Word in their hearts!” You may pick up your child’s Bible Memory book from his or her Bible Study class or from the magazine display by Kids Information Desk.
A Bible Memory Recognition Service is held in May, with medals being awarded in our 11:00am Kids Worship. When a child completes all six levels by their 5th grade year, he or she will be given a leather bound study Bible, engraved with their name, and a note written in their Bible by Pastor Tim!
It is the primary responsibility of the parent to guide your child in memorizing their work. (Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up (Deut. 11:18-19). Therefore, we encourage parents to work with their child at home to ensure that your child understands each verse.
Simple helps include writing the verse on an index card and placing it in on the mirror in the bathroom, on the refrigerator, by the bed, in the car, etc. You can also go to www.ImpressKids.com for FREE on-line games designed especially for the LBC Kids Bible Memory Program! Click “Register” and follow the instructions. Once your account is activated, you may log in and go to Liberty Baptist Kids Ministry.

SALVATION & BAPTISM
We would like to explain the process we use to assist children and preteens in becoming a Christian, joining the church and getting baptized. Our desire is to equip children and preteens discover, serve and grow in Jesus.
For children and preteens who have already made a decision to become a Christian and want to be baptized, we offer a New Believers class that focuses on some specific fundamentals of the Christian lifestyle. Our desire is that your child will leave excited and secure in their decision to follow Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
Throughout the year, we will provide a one session class for parent to help equip you in leading your child to Christ and teaching them to grow in Him. Information on these classes is available here as well as Online Registration (Leading A Child to Christ).
Though we do not have a firm policy on a minimum age for baptism, from our experience we recommend, if they have made that decision, 8 years old for most children. They typically have a clearer understanding of their salvation decision by this age. We do not prescribe to a specific “age of accountability” but just use this as a guideline to assist our families.
Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your child’s spiritual development. I look forward to meeting with each child and celebrating what God is doing in his/her life. Please contact me when you see that your child is ready to make their first step in following Jesus.
1. Questions? Ask Mrs. Laura
Do you have questions about becoming a Christian: What do I do, Am I ready, or What is baptism all about? Set up a time for you and/or your parent(s) to meet with Mrs. Laura. She would love to help answer the questions for children AND parents.
2. Become a Christian
A – Admit to God that you are a sinner. Repent, turn away from your sin. (Romans 3:23, 1 John 1:9)
B – Believe that Jesus Christ is God’s Son and accept God’s gift of forgiveness from sin. (John 3:16, Eph. 2:8-9)
C – Confess your faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. (Romans 10:9-10)
Share your exciting decision with your parents, family, friends and teachers. Set up a meeting with Mrs. Laura for your workbook, “I’m A Christian Now”.
4. Sign up for the New Believers Class
This one-session class is designed for children and preteens who have made a decision to become a Christian and want to be baptized. It is offered from 9:15 to 11:45 on Sunday mornings throughout the year. Please sign up at the Kids Information desk, or call Mrs. Laura at 678-9928.
The Bible teaches us that after we have made a decision to follow Jesus, we should be baptized. "As soon as He came up out of the water, He saw the heavens being torn open and the Spirit decending to Him like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: 'You are My beloved Son; I take delight in You." Mark 1:10-11. You may call the church office to schedule your child's baptism for either the morning or evening worship celebration.
6. Live For Him!
It is very important that parents disciple their children at home through daily quite times and making church attendance a priority, as well. According to a Barna Research Group study, if a child is not regularly active by the age of 12, the odds of their becoming active DROPS DRAMATICALLY in their teen years and beyond. Indeed, Barna's research indicates that adults who attend church regularly as children are nearly three times as likely to be attending a church today as their peers who avoided church during childhood (61% to 22%, respectively). In other words, parents who truly want the best for their children should get their children involved at church now and regularly. The old proverb was right on: "Raise up a child in the way they chould go,' and the odds are they won't depart from it.
LEADING A CHILD TO CHRIST CLASS
Leading A Child To Christ is a useful tool that helps parents and other adults learn how to share their faith with children. This training resource is full of vital information that will guide adults in a step-by-step method of sharing Jesus with children. You will receive a Leading Your Child To Christ booklet where one section of the booklet can be detached and placed in a Bible as a reference tool to use when talking with a child. You will also receive the newly designed ABCs of Becoming A Christian.
WHY WERE THESE CONTRACTS CREATED?
We don't want you to try to manipulate your tween's behavior with a document. We don't want you to think you can sue your tween if they breach this contract. We don't have any illusions that just because your tween signs this document they will magically be able to perform perfectly! That's not at all why we created these contracts. In fact, these are not contracts at all. They are communication tools! You see, whether you believe it or not, there is a negotiation happening in your home every day.
There is really no reason to fight the fact that a "Trust Economy" exists in your home. In fact, if you will embrace it, you might discover a whole new world of relationship with your tween free from nasty negotiations.
